Head, Strategic Communications
About the Role
IDFC Institute’s research is oriented towards informing policymaking and implementation within the government. While the research aims to be rigorous, it is unlikely to be academic in nature. To further this goal of addressing gaps in state capacity that hamstring governance, the Institute also relies on an extensive network of diverse stakeholders spanning policy institutions, government, industry and academia, among others.
The Strategic Communications Head will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing a communication strategy that is appropriate for this fast-moving policy environment and multiple constituencies. This will involve strategic and tactical tasks. The former will involve building the Institute’s brand, expanding and maintaining the Institute’s networks, managing communication to stakeholders, and advising project teams on appropriate responses to policy windows. The latter will consist of overseeing the Institute’s digital presence, media outreach, events, internal communication and the quality of research teams’ written output.
Experience and Qualifications
Other necessary skills include: excellent organisational and interpersonal abilities; the ability to prioritise and multitask in a rapidly changing environment.
The successful applicant will be remunerated with a competitive think-tank salary.
