Chinmaya Kumar is a Senior Associate at IDFC Institute. He is a PhD student at the Harris School of Public Policy, University of Chicago. His research interests broadly lie in the area of political economy of development and behavioural economics. Chinmaya is particularly interested in studying discrimination, elite capture, and the various constraints in strengthening public services in weak institutional settings. Previously, he was a country economist for International Growth Centre, Bihar (India).
Chinmaya holds an MPhil degree in development studies from University of Oxford and a B. A. (Honours) in Economics from University of Delhi.
