IDFC Institute is looking to hire smart, technically-capable people who have the ability to communicate and empathise with the world around them. The successful candidates will be comfortable with all things technical, from machine learning to mapping. They must also have the ability to present, liaise and interact with public officials and technical specialists.
About the Role:
Successful candidates will be based in Mumbai, India but will travel to our project sites across India. Candidates should have a passion for making data accessible to improve public policy decision-making—and the desire to have an impact.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Potential projects may include:
Creating elegant visualisations to show off IDFC Institute’s work.
Writing code to scrape data.
Setting digital imagery collection and management standards for the government.
Developing applications to facilitate easy data access.
Collecting and analysing real-time infrastructure data.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in economics, social sciences, public policy, mathematics, statistics, computer science, science, engineers, or similar.
Confidence to present to and liaise between diverse groups including public officials, technical specialists, etc.
Confidence with GIS software as well as basic understanding of satellite imagery.
Comfort with systems and servers.
